United Nations Volunteer Program?
I've looked on the UNV website, but the information is very vague. I know that in order to be even considered for as a UNV you have to have several years of experience ( 5 years for Professional Volunteers, and 3 years for Humanitarian Aid Volunteers). I am grotesquely interested in INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, therefore the Professional Volunteer Program is what I am more interested in, but the PROBLEM is that I only have close to 4 yrs of Professional Experience. All my experience has been as a civil engineer working for the Highways Department (State of Texas). I have also been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on Saturdays (Building Houses) for the 6 months. Can I apply for the UNV Professional Volunteer Program even though I have less than 5 years of experience, given the fact that most likely I would get the 5 years by the time my application is fully processed? Or would I not even be considered since I donâ ™t have the MINIMUM years of experience required? Any Advice Out There ON WHAT I SHOULD DO????? I know about VSO and Peace Corps, but I'm more interested in UNV program!!!!!#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
