  • Here is the situation. I eat like a small army. By that I mean, i'm 176lbs and 6ft tall, and I eat at least 3x what i should in one sitting. Example: breakfast: 3 chickens biscuits from hardeez and half gallon of OJ, Lunch: 2 footlong over roasted chicken breats from subway and a ton of water, Dinner: 16oz prime rib and 2 baked potatoes with more water....this is not to mention my pb and j snacks throughout the day. Point being, i am 20 years old and i'm frankly going broke trying to feed myself everyday. What can i do to remedy my huge freakin appetite ? My wallet and I would greatly appreciate any help.

  • well first off all you should not be eating that much!! thats alot..i dont care how tall you are that is just unhealthy...but foods that will make you full and that are healthy...not like greesy chicken bicuites..thats no good for you. Buy stuff thats craves your hunger up to 4 hours like green tea pills and slim fast...they are healthy and they taste good too! Oh and before you eat you know its recammended that you drink at least 2 cups of water or diet soda before you sit down to eat anything because it makes you fuller faster..therefore you won't be as hungry and you wont be needing to buy as much food. Drinking lots of fluids..mostly water through out the day will cure your cravings for food down alot..believe me it really works....and try buying diet soda to drink through out the day.

  • You have a fast metabolism. I do the exact same thing. My wallet is hurting now more than my actual health. The problem is that it will (or might) catch up to us. So for now we may eat all of that and not gain significant amount of body fat. But when our bodies start slowing down (due to aging), we might gain tremendous amounts of weight. This is the case with most retired pro-football players.

  • depends

if in good health there isnt much you can do, maybe exercise more, and this would be having a high mettabilism. dont eat out much and find sales for the money problem

  • Well
you could do things like set a limit of what your gonna spend on food that day. buy some food and make a promise to yourself that you wont spend anymore, it will seem hard but just think that it will be helping you at the end of the day. For your health and ur wallet. Also eat more filling foods and try only to eat 3 meals a day with maybe one snack. Im only 14 so im not sure if this helped you, but i hope it did! good luck

  • It'll take time, but slowly wean yourself down to lower amounts of food. Your body metabolism will readjust to fit your food intake (just do NOT suddenly start eating a lot less, make sure to make it gradual).

Also, eat things with more protein in them. Protein keeps you satiated longer (meaning it makes you feel full longer).

  • First of all, stop eating out. Eating out is ridiculously expensive, even at fast food places. And fast food is pretty much devoid of nutrition.

Start making food at home, and eating at home. Don't skip breakfast, and don't do anything else while you eat except eat. Eat until you are satisfied, but don't eat quickly, and like I said, don't do anything else while you're doing it.

It's easy to get distracted and overeat.

  • A lot of people over eat when they are unhappy,
    worried, concerned, stressed, depressed, lonely,
bored, medical reasons and or due to past unresolved issues.
Check all of those issues, if it's nothing worth
mentioning. Then you need to practice some
type of self control, because that kind of behavior is
not good for your health. And only YOU can control
    your bad eating habits.
    Peace

  • then stop eating so much, get off your @ss and start doing something about it

  • I wish I had that problem...sigh.

Well, to cut costs and stay full you are going to have to switch to more carbohydrates. More potatoes, macaroni, gravies, etc.

Also, try and cut back on eating out so much. The cost really adds up quickly.

  • I can out eat you any day and I'm 6'-2" at 149 lbs.I call it recreational eating........Keep going it's fun

  • do you eat very fast?

it has been scientifically proven that if you have smaller bites and chew for longer you feel more full.

you could also try going for different foods... example rice

rice is cheap, good for you, and can be pretty much used in every meal.

for breakfast- rice with a scrambled egg and a couple pieces of toast

    for lunch- fried rice

for dinner- minced meat and peas and corn with a bit of soy sauce ontop of some rice

rice is one of the simplest meals on the planet, and it fairly cheap

  • "If you mean hyperthyroidism, yes, there are medicines to help with it, or sometimes they remove (or kill off with radiation) part of the thyroid so you produce less thyroid hormone. It's called Grave's Disease, the current president Bush's mother had it.

It is not simply faster metabolism, that's part of it, but it also leads to bone loss, high blood pressure, pressure on the optic nerve causing moderate to severe loss of eyesight, can lead to aneurism, weakened heart muscle leading to heart failure. osteoporosis, or possible severe emotional disorders.

If you haven't been tested for thyroid levels, and you think that might be the cause of your symptoms, please see a doctor and have some thyroid tests done. If you do have hyperthyroidism, and it is left untreated, it could kill you."

  • dude, i'm the same way.. i'm 24, 160 lbs 5'11".. like an hour after i eat a huge meal, i'm hungry again.. but i lost my job, so money is tight.. all i can say is starve yourself for a bit.. i still weigh the same, but it takes less to fill me up. Today for breakfast i had a zebra cake. lunch i had ramen noodles. dinner i had a chicken pizziola sandwich from subway.. with 2 bowls of chips and salsa in between. that's about a quarter of what i used to eat.

  • "Point being, i am 20 years old and i'm frankly going broke trying to feed myself everyday"

LOL. Sorry, that just sounded really funny.

Maybe you can buy in bulk, aka Costco membership or do comparison shopping. Maybe eat leftovers if you have any...

  • slimfast my boy

  • i don't have any suggestions for your appetitie but instead of eating out buy ingredients and stuff from the grocery store and make your own sandwiches/meals, etc.
