I never saw star wars, im going to rent them tommarow, which do i rent?

  • IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD, please, please, please watch them in the order that they were released. Please, I beg you to listen to me. I have been a Star Wars fan since 1977, and I'm asking you to do me this favor. Watch them in the order they were released.

    Episode IV: A New Hope
    Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
    Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
    Episode I: The Phantom Menace
    Episode II: Attack of the Clones
    Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

    OK. Enough begging. You probably want to know why. I know that you haven't seen the movies, but I don't know how much you know about them. So I'll keep that in mind. The less you know, the better. Watching them in the above order will preserve some of the twists and surprises in the original trilogy. If you watch them in episode order, there won't be any surprises in the original trilogy. The other, more obvious, reason is that its the way that they were meant to be seen. I know that a lot of people are telling you to forget about Episodes I and II. You absolutely can't do that. True, they may be the "worst" of the 6 movies, but they are essential to the overall story. If you don't watch them, you will have so many questions when you watch Episode III. Someone also said that they enjoyed the prequel trilogy better than the original trilogy. There are alot of things I would like to say about that...mostly bad. But I'll just say, watch them all and make your own decision. Also, don't go looking for certain versions of the movies. None of the changes that were made have anything to do with the storyline.   • I agree with Twilight. Watch them in the order they were made. And if at all possible,watch the original versions of the original movies. See them as they were before George Lucas took a dump on my childhood by "updating" them. When "Star Wars" hit the screens in 1977 no one had ever seen anything like it before. Realize that all of the amazing backgrounds and effects were done by artists, and master craftsmen, not programmers. The newer versions are still good, but in order to appreciate how ground-breaking these first films were, you've got to see them as they were. They raised the bar for visual effects across all genres. That being said, according to Lucas these original films are now closer to what he had originally envisioned for the films , but lacked the technology to create. Either version you find, I still think the story line flows best from 4, 5, 6, to 1, 2, 3.


  • Watch them in the order they were originally made:
    IV - A New Hope
    V - The Empire Strikes Back
    VI - Return of the Jedi

    Then, watch the prequels:
    I - The Phantom Menace
    II - Attack of the Clones
    III - Revenge of the Sith

    There's nothing like the originals... I loved them. Episodes I and II kinda sucked, though, especially Jar-Jar and most of Episode II.


  • personally i would suggest watching 3 ,4,5,6 ......they [4,5,6]are better made and more interesting than the newer 3 films.......

    but i reckon if you are not a fan of the films[ie..dunno the story behind star wars] watch number 3 then the 4,5,6 [to help you understand it all ....i have watched them since childhood ]
    also i advise against seeing 1 and 2 purely cos they are overloaded with cgi technology [whereas the older ones were better to watch wihout over the top cgi].....and personally jar jar binks is the worst character EVER made in a movie and deserves to have his head chopped off with a light saber [hes annoying as hell!!!]

    The Prequels (newer):

    Episode 1: Phantom Menace
    Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
    Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith


    They are all great, but I enjoyed the prequels more. Episode III is my favorite.
    Watch them in Episode order though. It will all make more sense.
