My husband and best friend are not citizens, one has had a student visa for 5 years the other has a permanent resident card from the age of 3, can they still vote NO on Prop 8.They would need to be registered voters in the state of California. To be a registered voter, they need to be citizens of the United States, have permanent residence in California, and not have been convicted of a felony. To those who do not know
Propostion 8 is a government action in california to amend the california constituation so tht gay marriage once again becomes illegal..
In the year 2000 it was found legal because of the bad phrasing in the original contituation..
And I'm so sorry =[[ I'm not familiar with customs in AmericaAnd you asked this question in this section because? My guess would be no.
Why don't you contact the Secretary of State for California or the town hall where they would register at? You've got people from all over the world on this forum.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
